Six weeks removed from straining his hamstring, Nick Bosa seems well on his way toward being ready for his first NFL training camp. The San Francisco 49ers rookie posted photos of himself working out with his older brother, Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa, on Friday, doing explosive exercises that seem to suggest his hamstring won't be a problem going forward.

Bosa was selected with the No. 2 overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Considered by many as the top prospect in this year's class, he played just three games last season after having surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle in Ohio State’s 40-28 win over TCU on September 15. He had five and-a-half sacks and seven tackles for loss in that limited action, though, evidently doing enough in his final collegiate season to remain a viable candidate for the first overall pick.

The younger Bosa first burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2016, posting five sacks in limited playing time. He cemented himself as an elite NFL prospect shortly thereafter, with eight and-a-half sacks and 16 tackles for loss during his sophomore season.

The Ohio State product has faced for his previously outspoken support of President Donald Trump and several instances of prejudicial posts on social media. Since being drafted by the 49ers, though, he's apologized for past statements and made an effort to focus solely on football, winning approval of his San Francisco teammates in the process.

Nick Bosa, if fully healthy, should be considered a favorite for Rookie of the Year honors, likely free to go one-on-one against opposing offensive lineman throughout his debut season due to the presence of standout pass-rushers like DeForest Buckner and Dee Ford.
