While the San Francisco 49ers prepare themselves for Super Bowl LIV, Nick Bosa was able to secure some hardware. Ahead of Saturday's NFL Honors ceremony, Bosa was named as the winner of the fan vote Rookie of the Year award, via NFL communications.

During the regular season, Bosa set a rookie franchise record with 16 tackles for loss for the 49ers. It's also worth noting that the Ohio State product finished the season with nine sacks, 25 quarterback hits, one interception, and a forced fumble as well.

Not to mention he's contributed another three sacks for the 49ers thus far in the postseason. The first-year defensive end is undoubtedly a one-man wrecking crew and his potential is through the roof. However, Bosa isn't done proving why he was the No. 2 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The other finalists that were considered for the award were Kyler Murray, Josh Jacobs, A.J. Brown, and Miles Sanders. In the long run, fans of the NFL believed that Bosa was the most impactful rookie in 2019.

Last year, Saquon Barkley was able to take home the award after a remarkable rookie campaign with the New York Giants. Since 2002, Pepsi has allowed fans to vote for their Rookie of the Year award.

Generally speaking, the award has typically been given to an offensive player. With this in mind, the 49ers' Bosa becomes just the second defensive player to be chosen among the fans as the best rookie. The last defensive player to win the award was Ndamukong Suh in 2010.

Due to being in the Super Bowl, Bosa already accepted the award via video. Despite winning an award for his individual success, Bosa would love to add a Super Bowl ring to his collection.
