Jimmy Garoppolo of the San Francisco 49ers has a lot of pressure on him after the team traded a first-round draft pick to the New England Patriots last year.

Peter King of NBC Sports is expecting big things for the 49ers and Garoppolo. King says that at the end of next season, Garoppolo will be a top-five quarterback in the NFL.

“(Romo) could not stop talking about what a huge advantage Kyle Shanahan for a young quarterback,” King said via USA Today, referring to Shanahan’s ability to call successful plays on first down leading to favorable situations on second and third down.

“Jimmy Garoppolo (and) Kyle Shanahan are going to be great at that. I just think, by the end of this year, we’re going to be talking about Jimmy Garoppolo as a top-five quarterback in the NFL,” King said.

The 49ers won five straight games to close the 2017 season, and during that win streak, they averaged 410 yards per game.

In his career, Garoppolo has gone 7-0 as a starter, and just a few years ago people were calling on him to replace Tom Brady. The 49ers are in one of the toughest divisions in football with the Los Angeles Rams, and the Seattle Seahawks expected to also compete for playoff spots, but with Garoppolo chances are high for a great season.
