Richard Sherman is now known for the player he used to be as much for the one as he currently is. That's not necessarily a slight to the San Francisco 49ers cornerback, either, but more a reflection of just how dominant he was during his prime with the Seattle Seahawks. If at least a portion of his time in France with Hall-of-Fame cornerback Deion Sanders was well spent, though, perhaps Sherman will return in 2019 with a few new tricks up his sleeve.

Sherman and Sanders are currently in France to participate in the 2019 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The superstar cornerbacks were included on a panel with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and NFL executive Tim Ellis that discussed how the league can come together to reach and engage new and existing fans on social media.

It's not entirely clear if Sherman and Sanders discussed playing techniques that helped each of them become two of the best cover men in league history. What's absolutely obvious given Sanders' tweet below, though, is that the 51 year old could still benefit from some social media training.

Sanders, inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011, retired in 2005 after a 14-year NFL career during which he won two Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys and was named First Team All-Pro on eight separate occasions.

Sherman, meanwhile, had 37 tackles in 14 games for the 49ers last season, failing to record an interception for the first time in his career. The 31 year old signed a three-year, $27 million deal with the 49ers in free agency last year after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in 2017, his final season with the Seahawks.
