The San Francisco 49ers cemented their status as the best team in the NFC by systematically dismantling the Green Bay Packers, and the defense had a lot to do with their success. However, Darrelle Revis felt compelled to call out Ricard Sherman for his talent not matching the standards of his teammates.
Revis Island went to Twitter and called Sherman out for the Niners' defensive scheme bailing him out multiple times during the Packers game. Revis said that Sherman was afraid of getting beat in man-to-man coverage.
However, Sherman didn't take long to clap back after the 49ers won 37-20. He took to Twitter and said that he would love to respond to Revis. However, he noted that he has a Super Bowl to prepare for.

It was a fantastic reply for Sherman, who effectively shut down one of the best defensive backs to ever play the game. The fact that he has another shot to win the Super Bowl, this time with the 49ers, is more than enough of a comeback to make Revis shut up.
Moreover, his numbers spoke for himself. Sherman finished the game with three tackles, one pass deflection, and an interception that went for three yards. It was a solid outing for a 31-year-old corner who is still thriving in one of the best defenses in the NFL.
The biggest way Sherman can silence Revis and the rest of his critics is by shutting down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. He's undoubtedly the best quarterback in the game at the moment, and shutting him down would solidify Sherman's legacy as one of the best corners to ever play the game.
