The San Francisco 49ers have dealt with a slew of injuries throughout the season, but they'll get some of their key contributors back in Week 12. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Richard Sherman is set to return from his nearly season-long absence versus the Los Angeles Rams.

Sherman has been sidelined for the 49ers since playing in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. The veteran cornerback has been on injured reserve with a calf injury and hasn't been able to practice much during his absence.

Sherman has now made enough progress to return to the field on Sunday when San Francisco travels to take on Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium. Even though it has been over two months since he last played, Sherman will be a welcomed addition to the defense this week.

A season ago, Sherman was crucial in helping the 49ers reach the Super Bowl, playing at a Pro Bowl level at 31 years old. The former All-Pro cornerback recorded 61 tackles, 11 pass breakups, three interceptions, and a touchdown in the 2019 season.

Then, in the playoffs, Sherman logged two pass breakups, two interceptions, and a forced fumble in San Francisco's three playoff games. Unfortunately, Sherman and the 49ers fell short of winning the Super Bowl, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Besides Sherman, it appears that San Francisco could have a few other players who were on injured reserve return on Sunday. Guys like Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Deebo Samuel could all return to the offense when the 49ers take part in their rematch against the Rams.
