The Los Angeles Rams technically had a home-field advantage on Sunday in the Coliseum, but it sure didn't feel like it. The San Francisco 49ers faithful came out in the masses to support their undefeated team. The result: an already red stadium filled with 49ers fans donning the same color.

49ers players took notice of their “home-field advantage” at an away stadium. After the game, San Francisco cornerback Richard Sherman took to Twitter to thank the fans that came out.

49ers faithful have a reason to travel to away games: their team is one of the best in the NFC. Through five weeks, the 49ers remain unbeaten, including their 20-7 win over the Rams, who, mind you, visited the Super Bowl eight months ago.

Previously one of the NFL's worst units, the 49ers defense played a beautiful game against the high-powered Rams offense. After a Robert Woods rushing touchdown, the Rams found no success. San Francisco restricted Los Angeles to just 10 first downs, no completed third or fourth downs, and 157 yards on 50 plays.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff could get nothing going against the much-improved 49ers pass defense, despite being “at home.” The well-paid Pro Bowler passed the ball 24 times, the results: 78 yards on 13 completions and four sacks taken.

In all, the 49ers dominated the Rams. While their defense played a major role in that, stealing home field advantage certainly helped. In doing so, the 49ers stay firmly entrenched as the team to beat in the NFC West, boasting a high-profile run offense, a menacing defense, a fanbase that won't quit, and a perfect record.
