San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman believes that the offseason competition will be strong due to a plethora of potential changes with the team's depth chart.

The Niners have had another disappointing season, as Kyle Shanahan's squad has struggled to a 4-11 record at this point.

Of course, with numerous injuries at key positions, it's easy to understand why things have been such a challenge for Sherman and company.

But, with so much room for improvement across the board, that has the star safety seemingly thrilled with the amount of competition that could be ahead during the offseason.

Here's what he had to say about the team potentially overhauling its depth chart, courtesy of David Lombardi of The Athletic:

Richard Sherman says that the 49ers’ depth charts “will likely be completely wiped” after this season. He says this will open the door for all-out competition at every position.

Sherman continues to be someone that most quarterbacks try to avoid, and that will likely be the case going forward as well.

However, there's no doubt that there will be changes on the roster, with Shanahan hoping to finally get the Niners back on track after several underwhelming seasons in a row.

The Niners will try to finish the regular season on a positive note on Sunday, but that will be easier said than done since Sherman and company will hit the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams.

Sean McVay's team captured a 39-10 victory in the first meeting between the two this season.
