Rob Gronkowski is one of the best tight ends in NFL history but now that he is retired, there has been some debate on who is now the best tight end in the league. Gronkowski weighed in on this topic, and his answer was pretty easy, George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers.

Gronkowski said the biggest reason he likes Kittle is that he really reminds him of what he could do on the field when he was with the Patriots.

“I like to go with George Kittle,” said Gronk via the Mercury News. “I just like his game. I said it before: He just kind of reminds me of myself. When he gets the ball, man, he just wants to keep going. Just doesn’t care who’s coming at him, just wants to break through all the tackles.”

Kittle has missed a couple of games with injuries this season, but he is still having a bigger year. On the season, he has caught 46 passes for 541 yards and two touchdowns. During his career, he has caught 177 passes that have racked up 2,433 yards and nine touchdowns.

While it's clear that Kittle is still has a long way away to catch up to Gronk as he racked up 521 catches, 7,861 yards, 15.1 yard and 79 touchdowns in nine seasons. Getting praise from one of the best tight ends to ever do it is high praise, but it's well deserved.

The next step for Kittle is team success similar to Gronkowski and it looks like that could be coming this year. The 49ers currently sit with a 9-1 record which gives them an inside track for home field throughout the playoffs.
