The San Francisco 49ers not only secured the top seed in the NFC Playoffs, but the franchise is once again representing the NFC in the Super Bowl.

With the 49ers proving to be too much to handle for the NFC North champion Green Bay Packers, San Francisco has made some history by punching their ticket for a matchup against the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs in Miami.

With the 49ers slated to take part in Super Bowl LIV in two weeks, San Francisco has officially become the fifth NFL franchise to clinch at least seven all-time Super Bowl appearances, joining some seriously elite company in the process.

Coming as absolutely no surprise, the New England Patriots currently lead the way by making their way to an incredible 11 Super Bowls as it stands today. The Patriots have also won two of the last three and three of the last five Supes, with a new champion set to be anointed this time around as the Chiefs and 49ers will settle their upcoming score in Miami.

With the 49ers sporting an impressive seven trips to the big game on their resume, the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos have all reached the NFL's version of a title game eight times apiece. It has been 24 years since the 49ers won a title while the team's last Super Bowl appearance came six years ago, which also resulted in San Francisco's lone Super Bowl loss to date.
