The San Francisco 49ers are trying to do right by Jimmy Garoppolo. While his future in a Niners uniform sounds to be all but over, the team is showing him every courtesy as they try and coordinate a graceful exit.
The 49ers are reportedly giving Jimmy G the play-by-play of what's to come, making sure that Garoppolo is as informed as possible with any potential moves they set up leading up to the one they eventually pull the trigger on.
According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports, the 49ers are keeping Garoppolo informed throughout the entire process. It's a classy move by the organization that Garoppolo appreciates.
“I think they’re trying to do the best for me. I’m trying to do the best for them,” Garoppolo said Tuesday in a video call with Bay Area reporters. “We’re working together on that. (We) really haven’t made too much progress on it, but I think things will start happening here pretty quickly.
Jimmy Garoppolo wasn't able to lead the 49ers to the promised land, but he did everything he could and was by all accounts the consummate professional throughout his tenure in San Francisco.
That's why it should be no surprise to see the organization trying its best to show him the same respect and professionalism that he exuded.
