The San Francisco 49ers had interest in acquiring Antonio Brown this offseason before he was traded to the Oakland Raiders. Now, they may have a second chance at getting the star wide receiver. After a lot of drama in Oakland, the Raiders made the decision to release the disgruntled receiver.

According to SportsLine, the 49ers have the second-best odds to end up signing Brown for the 2019 season.

San Francisco is one of the teams that would have nothing to lose by taking a gamble on Brown. Despite the drama that surrounded him in Oakland, Brown is still one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. The 49ers desperately need to add more firepower for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Brown caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns last season with the Steelers. Even with the altercations that he ran into with the Raiders, he is one of the most talented weapons in the game. John Lynch and company should strongly consider giving him another chance.

Currently, the 49ers have Dante Pettis, Marquise Goodwin, and Deebo Samuel atop their wide receiver depth chart. While there is some good young talent in that group, they are severely lacking a true No. 1 option.

The 49ers may decide against the drama and media rush that would accompany Brown, but it would make sense. Brown is looking for another opportunity and the 49ers are one of the teams that can give it to him.

Stay tuned, as we will have the latest developments and news surrounding Brown's next step.
