The San Francisco 49ers have been bitten hard by the injury bug. However, it has mainly been in their running back room. Raheem Mostert is out for the year, and now the 49ers are also dealing with injuries to the remainder of their backs on the roster.

That is a massive headache, and Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers are bringing in a trio of veterans as they just try and get capable bodies to fill the void until the others are ready to roll.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 49ers are bringing in Duke Johnson, Lamar Miller, and TJ Yeldon.

JaMycal Hasty is out for some time per Shanahan, and now Trey Sermon is in concussion protocol, which doesn't bode well for the rookie's chances. As much talent as the 49ers have, having a patchwork of veterans at running back might not be enough for them to outrun the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams in what is a loaded NFC West division.

This situation regarding the 49ers running backs will be worth monitoring, and surely Kyle Shanahan and the team have a ton of headaches to overcome as they deal with a heavy rash of injuries to this position group.
