Running back Jerick McKinnon will sign with the San Francisco 49ers. This move by the former Minnesota Vikings talent was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Per 2018 social media era rules, this report was released on the mean streets of Twitter.

As the tweet mentions, the deal is a four-year, $30 million agreement. As usual, though, don't get caught up on that last part of the tweet about average yearly salary. Unless the running back became one of the incredibly rare NFL players to get a fully guaranteed deal, the only number worth monitoring is what he's getting upfront.

A former third-round NFL Draft pick by the Vikings back in 2013, McKinnon, 25, has yet to even come close to eclipsing over 1,000 yards in a season. To be fair to him, his career high in carries came in 2016, when the back touted the rock only 159 times for 539 yards. At the same time, his career yards per carry average is 4.0.

McKinnon ran for 570 yards and caught 51 passes for 421 yards last season. He said earlier this offseason that he wanted the opportunity to be a team's lead back. He'll likely get that in San Francisco following Carlos Hyde's departure. Hyde left the comfy confines of the Bay Area to go to a much colder, less riddled with history franchise on Wednesday, agreeing to sign with the Cleveland Browns.

As for the Vikings, they should be alright at running back even with the loss of McKinnon. They still have Latavius Murray to back up Dalvin Cook, who's set to return after his rookie year was cut short due to a torn ACL.
