While the San Francisco 49ers made it all the way to the Super Bowl this past season, their offense wasn't exactly a strong point. That's why staying healthy is absolutely imperative to the 49ers' offensive unit showing improvement in 2020.

The good news is that things seem to be on the right track.

Matt Barrows of The Athletic notes that Jimmy Garoppolo had a throwing session with several of his receivers on Friday, including several wideouts who were injured in 2019.

Among those who are now healthy are Jalen Hurd, Trent Taylor and Shawn Poindexter, all of whom missed the entire 2019-20 campaign with serious injuries.

Barrows adds that because they were rehabilitating their injuries, all three receivers were allowed to use San Francisco's facility during the coronavirus shutdown.

In addition, incoming rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has fully recovered from the core muscle surgery he underwent a few weeks before the NFL Draft.

Hurd is a particularly interesting name to monitor.

The Niners took the Baylor product in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft after he broke out with 69 receptions for 946 yards and four touchdowns during his senior campaign.

At 6-foot-4 and around 230 pounds, Hurd has outstanding size for the position, as well as decent speed. Interestingly enough, he began his collegiate career as a running back at Tennessee and actually racked up 1,285 yards and 12 scores on the ground in his sophomore season.

It will be intriguing to see how head coach Kyle Shanahan elects to incorporate Hurd into the offense next season.
