The San Francisco 49ers are looking to pick up where they left off coming out of their bye week against the Cleveland Browns. Fortunately, it appears their backfield may be at full strength with the return of running back Tevin Coleman.

Coleman has been nursing a high ankle sprain he suffered in the 2019 NFL season opener. According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports, he will be available versus the Browns:

LT Joe Staley (fractured fibula) and CB Ahkello Witherspoon (foot sprain) are out tonight against the Browns. Everyone else on the 49ers 53-man roster, including RB Tevin Coleman (ankle) and DE Dee Ford (knee), is expected to be available. There will be five healthy inactives.

This is certainly an encouraging update for San Francisco. He was poised to serve as the head of their three-pronged approach in the backfield after signing a two-year deal this offseason. He will finally have a chance to take back his role following a slow start to the year.

The 49ers have had no problem establishing their run game in Coleman's absence thanks to the efforts of running backs Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert. Breida currently leas the team with 226 yards on 41 carries. Meanwhile, Mostert has proven to be a solid complementary option with 34 carries for 202 yards.

Things will now be much more crowded in the backfield with Coleman's return.

Although having a surplus of weapons is a good problem to have, it will be interesting to see how the pecking order is established in the next few weeks.
