It is safe to say that San Francisco 49ers starting left tackle Trent Williams is quite concerned about the playing surface at MetLife Stadium as the NFC West franchise will be competing at such a venue for the second straight week this weekend.

After defeating the lowly New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in Week 2, the 49ers will once again serve as the visiting team in East Rutherford, New Jersey in Week 3 against the New York Giants.

Unfortunately for the 49ers, a slew of the team's talented players injured themselves at MetLife Stadium against the Jets including quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, running back Raheem Mostert, pass rusher Nick Bosa and defensive lineman Solomon Thomas.

“I’d be lying to tell you we’re not going to be thinking about it or it’s not going to go across our minds,” Williams said on Wednesday, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “But when you've got 300-pound linemen in front of you that’s trying to put you on your back, I think the surface falls on the back burner.”

The 49ers did manage to rout the struggling Jets in Week 2 despite the turf and injury-teated issues.

The Giants are equally terrible and will be without superstar running back Saquon Barkley for the remainder of the year as the former second-overall pick suffered a season-ending knee injury this past weekend against the Chicago Bears. The 49ers initially lost to the rival—and still undefeated—Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 before being matched up against the Jets and Giants, respectively.
