Earlier this week, it was announced that Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver Antonio Brown would get the honor to grace the “Madden NFL 19” cover for this year's edition of the popular video game.

In light of that, San Francisco 49ers All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman has taken the time to congratulate Brown on receiving this unique honor that so few players have had the honor of being named.

Sherman had the chance to get this unique opportunity for the Madden 15 cover when he was a member of Seattle Seahawks that came several months after helping the franchise win their first Super Bowl in a convincing 43-8 blowout win over the Denver Broncos.

It also brought him the extra attention toward being recognized as one of the top cornerbacks in the league on arguably the best defense.

Meanwhile, this is a well-deserved honor for Brown given that he is widely regarded as being the standard bearer for the wide receiver behind his elite level of production on a yearly basis. This had also earned him the rest to being nominated as the best player in the league finishing only behind New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady for the top players in the NFL for the 2017 campaign.

Nonetheless, this is a special situation that has only been given to a select group of players in the league since the game came to fruition back in 1988 with players receiving the honor of being the cover star back for Madden 2001 with former Tennessee Titans star running back Eddie George.
