The Kansas City Chiefs have a rich history dating all the way back to their first year in 1960. This is a team that has won two Super Bowls but do those make the cut in the five greatest moments in Chiefs history?

Let's break down the five greatest moments in Chiefs history.

5. Chiefs play in first Super Bowl

Losing a Super Bowl isn't a great moment for most teams, but for the Chiefs it was a little different. In 1966, the Green Bay Packers and Chiefs played in the first Super Bowl. Kansas City was trailing 14-10 at halftime and in the second half, Len Dawson struggled which led to the loss.

Even though the Chiefs lost the game, the first Super Bowl was a changing point in football history, and the Chiefs were part of it.

4. Chiefs draft Patrick Mahomes

When the Chiefs drafted Patrick Mahomes with the 10th pick in the 2017 draft, there were a lot of eyebrows raised. Alex Smith was the starting quarterback in Kansas City, and it seemed they had the quarterback position under control.

There might have been some people who questioned the decision back in 2017, but there is no one questioning it now. There could be an argument made that Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL because of all the success the Chiefs have had under his leadership. The sky is the limit for Mahomes and the more success he has, the higher he will move up this list.

3. 65 Toss Power Trap

65 Toss Power Trap is one of the most famous plays in NFL history. Heading into Super Bowl IV, NFL Films worked out a deal with Chiefs coach Hank Starm to be mic'd up for the game. The first touchdown of the game against the Minnesota Vikings was scored on a Mike Garrett run, on the aforementioned play.

The Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl 23-7. It wasn't until that spring when NFL films released audio of the game that 65 Toss Power Trap became famous and forever linked to the Kansas City team.

2. Eric Berry makes his return

Late in 2014, it was announced that Chiefs standout Eric Berry had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was a tough time for Berry and everyone involved with him and the team. Berry ended up missing the last five games of the season.

He was expected to miss the 2015 season and there were questions when he was diagnosed if he would ever be able to return to the field. Not only did Berry return to the field for the Chiefs, he didn't miss any games during the 2015 season. Berry made it back for the beginning of training camp and was ready for Week 1.

1. Comeback after comeback after comeback

The 2019 playoffs come in at No. 1 on this list. Not only did the Chiefs win the Super Bowl but the way they won each of their games during the playoffs was impressive. In the Divisional round, Kansas City was down 24-0 against the Houston Texans, and it looked like they were going to get knocked out early via way of a shocking blowout. Instead, Patrick Mahomes ended up leading the Chiefs all the way back and won the game, 51-31.

In the AFC Championship game the Chiefs fell behind 10-0 to the Tennessee Titans and there was concern Kansas City's luck would run out. Mahomes once again had other ideas, and the Chiefs came away with a 35-24 victory.

In the Super Bowl, it was much of the same for the Chiefs. At the end of the third quarter, the San Francisco 49ers were up 20-10. Mahomes once again led the comeback, leading the Chiefs to score 21 points in the fourth quarter. It was Mahomes' first Super Bowl victory, but the hope is that is only the start of the Chiefs championship wins with him under center.
