What's a perfect recipe for disaster? Have an amazing player that terribly fits within a team. Unfortunately, these are the five NBA players with massive potential that got screwed by the Draft Lottery resulting with them heading to the wrong team.

5. RJ Barrett — New York Knicks

This was a mess. For a rookie entering the league, it's not an ideal environment to have the great Phil Jackson recently leave the organization, undergo a coaching change from David Fizdale to Mike Miller, an owner in James Dolan constantly being scrutinized, all combined with the spotlight of Madison Square Garden. The New York Knicks are simply a mess and it just doesn't bode well for a young man like RJ Barrett starting his NBA career.

4. Aaron Gordon — Orlando Magic

It can't be all about dunks. The front office of the Orlando Magic has failed to give Aaron Gordon a respectable supporting cast over the past six years. While the team has made the playoffs on occasion, it has yet to see any vast improvement. The Magic may be wasting the youth of an NBA star in the making.

3. Kyle Kuzma — Los Angeles Lakers

He was supposed to be more than a third wheel. It's evident that Kyle Kuzma has massive upside comparable to the likes of Jayson Tatum, who is thriving in Boston. However, the Los Angeles Lakers may not be the best fit as Kuzma simply needs the ball more in his hands.

With the presence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the team is clearly focused on championship aspirations, rather than player development. Overall, the fit is still a question mark as Kuzma may or may not become the NBA player that he's meant to be in Los Angeles.

2. Karl-Anthony Towns — Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been underwhelming for the last five seasons. While Karl-Anthony Towns has showed that he can be a dominant presence on the hardwood, it has simply never translated to a chunk of wins. The organization has to do a better job of surrounding him with players that will take his game to the next level to make some noise in the postseason. Outside of that, this is Kevin Garnett's situation all over again.

1. Devin Booker — Phoenix Suns

It's painful seeing Devin Booker waste his youth with the Phoenix Suns. Without a doubt, he is already a superstar in the NBA. The only problem is that he is tasked to carry his entire team on his back 82 times a year. While the front office has tried to move some pieces around, the team has yet to see any noticeable level of success during Booker's young career. The Suns need to get him some help.
