MiHoYo's Genshin Impact v2.0 Special Program did a spell on us and countless other Genshin Impact fans. There will be cool new features, amazing new mechanics, and amazing new characters, not to mention an entirely new region in Inazuma. We know that you're just as hyped as we are, but there are a couple of things you should do before heading off the coast. Here are the 5 things you should do before Genshin Impact v2.0 rolls out.
1. Collect Sea Ganodermas for Kaedehara Kazuha
If you rolled and gotten Kaedehara Kazuha, then chances are you're still building the character up. One of the things that you need to ascend him to higher levels is the Sea Ganoderma.
Right now, the Sea Ganoderma is only exclusively available at the Golden Apple Archipelago. Now, this entire map will disappear entirely once Genshin Impact v2.0 will roll out. That means your reliable source for Sea Ganoderma will be gone.
Thankfully, they will also appear in Inazuma, but you will have to explore again and find new farming locations for the Sea Ganoderma. That'll delay your progression of Kazuha. Therefore, collect all of the Sea Ganoderma that you can while the Golden Apple Archipelago is still around. You can get over between 30 to 40 in that map in one run.
2. Save your Primogems and weapon billets
Just like any other Genshin Impact new version, v2.0 will bring with it new wish banners. If you're not too keen on getting any of the current offerings, save your Primogems for the upcoming new ones. The long-awaited Kamisato Ayaka debuts alongside version 2.0. A new weapon banner will be coming, too, featuring the Raiden Shogun's Mistsplitter Reforge, a truly unique and desirable weapon. Given the recent changes on how weapon wish banners work, you might want to save your Primogems before rolling for new weapons.
On the other hand, you can also gain access to new and stronger weapons in Inazuma through crafting. One of each weapon type will be added to the forge, and they are arguably better than your current options. Either save up your weapon prototypes or start stockpiling billets from boss fights before Genshin Impact v2.0 rolls out.
3. Save Fragile Resins for new Genshin Impact artifacts and ascension materials
Genshin Impact v2.0 brings two new artifact sets that you might want to get. One of them feels like a way better Berserker Set. If you haven't yet, then it's finally time for an artifact upgrade. These are:
Emblem of Severed Fate
2-piece Set: Energy Recharge +20%
4-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained this way.
Shimenawa’s Reminiscence
2-Piece Set: ATK +18%
4-Piece Set: When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy, and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s.
These new artifact sets will surely be farmable in the new shrines or leyline disorders in Inazuma. Hence, if you want to get a complete set of these two immediately, then you'll have to reserve your resins.
On the other hand, we're getting new characters in Genshin Impact v2.0. Most of them will require new ascension materials that you'd only find in Inazuma. Some of them might be farmable in shrines and leyline disorders as well, which will also require more resin from you.
4. Gather Noctilous Jades and Farm Electro Hypostasis for Captain Beidou
We'll be getting the Captain of the Crux Fleet, Captain Beidou, once we set sail for Inazuma. Hence, now's a great time to gather the necessary materials we'd need to ascend her. Beidou is a strong support character that can generate a lot of energy using her electro shields. If you don't have her yet, chances are you've been skipping on Noctilous Jades. Now's the time to collect them either through mining or by buying them off the hands of the Jade Merchant at Liyue. Additionally, you need to gather her ascension materials that Electro Hypostasis drops.
5. Complete the Echoing Tales Genshin Impact Event Quest
Whether or not you took part in the Midsummer Island Adventure, you still have a chance to get Barabara's free Summer Outfit. Missing out on this one will still let you get the first-ever Genshin Impact cosmetic, but for the price of Genesis Crystals.
Both Barbara's and Jean's summer outfits can eventually be bought from the store, so there's no rush if you're willing to pay. However, if you want to get Barbara's sailor outfit for free, then go collect at least 24 Echoing Conches on the Golden Apple Archipelago. Listening to the sound bites will give you a background on the islands' history, so it's also worth checking out for the lore. Go get them before Golden Apple Archipelago say goodbye for good when Genshin Impact v2.0 comes out!
And those are the 5 things you should do before Genshin Impact v2.0 rolls out and takes us to Inazuma. Are there other things you'd like to do before the new update?
