For much of the last year, Jahlil Okafor‘s long-term future with the Philadelphia 76ers had been questioned through numerous trade rumors.

Despite much of that chatter around his future with the 76ers, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders is reporting that there currently isn't much of an internal push from the organization to move the former third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

As much as fans in Philadelphia want the former third overall pick Jahlil Okafor moved, there is talk that the 76ers are not as eager to dump him. But there is a sense the 76ers would move Okafor in trade. The question is what does he return?

Much of this thinking stems from new management looking to acquire the best return possible in exchange for Okafor regardless of how much his play has declined this past season. However, things could heat up over the next few weeks prior to the draft.

This is a huge shift as the 76ers had made a concerted attempt to deal him away prior to the trade deadline this past season with rumored interest from the Chicago Bulls but nothing ever truly materialized beyond that.

Okafor has seen his production on the court take a significant dip in his second campaign averaging 11.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 50 games played with 33 starts. His season was prematurely ended in late March due to soreness in his right knee.

The 76ers had exercised the third-year option on Okafor's rookie scale contract in late October. Philadelphia also holds a team option for the 2018-19 season worth $6.4 million and a qualifying offer worth $8.2 million for the 2019-20 campaign.
