Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel finally made his way back to professional football in the United States. He recently latched onto the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football. Even so, the AAF shut down its season on Tuesday, paving the way for Manziel to take to Twitter to air his thoughts.

“Just the reality of this unfortunate situation,” Manziel tweeted on Tuesday afternoon. “Great concept, good football on the field and fun for fans to watch. Just not enough money to go around which has been the main problem with ‘other’ leagues for a long time.”

However, “Johnny Football” wasn't quite done just yet. The former Heisman Trophy winner also made a point to offer some advice to his Alliance of American Football counterparts.

“If you’re an AAF player and the league does dissolve, the last check you got will be the last one that you get,” Manziel continued on Twitter. “No lawsuit or anything else will get you your bread. Save your money and keep your head up. It’s the only choice at this point unless something drastic happens.”

Of course, Johnny Manziel could return to the NFL at some point in the future, though such a possibility still seems unlikely. Manziel hasn't played in the NFL since 2015 as a member of the aforementioned Browns. He was originally selected by the AFC North franchise in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M.

Johnny Manziel has bounced around various levels of football. He had a cup of coffee in the Canadian Football League. His AAF tour was cut short for reasons which were profoundly different from the Montreal Alouettes or Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but the bottom-line reality is that he is still looking for his next football home.
