Johnny Manziel was banned from the Canadien Football League earlier this week and the big question has been where does he go from here. One option is the Alliance of American Football, the new football league that just played their first game a couple of weeks ago, and according to the league they are open to Manziel joining the league, as long as he is clean.

Alliance co-founder Charlie Ebersol said the league is trying to get to the bottom of what happened in the Canadien Football League to get Manziel banned, and after they get all the facts they will make a decision.

“We don't know,” Alliance co-founder Charlie Ebersol said Friday via ESPN. “We're trying to get to the bottom of what happened in Canada. We want to be a league of opportunity to the best available players, assuming they are available contractually, with a clean bill of health and a clean criminal record. We want them if they can play at our level. We have to have guys who play at a level that every single guy has a shot to get back to the NFL.

“We look at everybody. If he is clean and clear, we will certainly talk to him about coming out for a workout.”

If the league decides to offer Manziel a tryout and he wants to play for the league the San Antonio Commanders will get the first shot at him because he played at Texas A&M. If they decide to pass on his services he would have to go through the Waiver process.
