A new version of the Verdansk map in Call of Duty Warzone (COD Warzone) appeared in leaks earlier this week. However, Activision has been doing everything in its power to stop them from spreading.

COD WARZONE NEW VERDANSK MAP TEASED IN LIVE-ACTION AD

An 80's-era Black Ops Cold War version of Verdansk started appearing in video clips earlier this week. A commercial went rounds on Twitter, reports Charlie Intel, until take down notices from Activision led to the deletion of the said commercial. The Warzone commercial featured live-action footage of what looked like a time-shifted Verdansk.

“The commercial featured scenes showcasing the Verdansk map being ‘transformed' into a 1980s version of itself,” reports Charlie Intel. “It looks almost like a version of Verdansk being reminded back in time when things were still being built and pieced together.”

The ad showed an aerial view of the Verdansk map, with current landmarks replaced by works in progress. One example of this is the bridge in the 80's version which is located where the dam is supposed to be. The short ad also featured the Stadium still being under construction. It also featured a Cold War-style plane in the Airport.

This new map is expected to debut on April 22, basing on the expiry date of the current Battle Pass. Hence, we can expect the leaked ad to appear alongside the new Season 3 for Call of Duty Warzone.

ACTIVISION IN A CRUSADE AGAINST THE LEAKED AD

Meanwhile, any attempts to find these leaks will be a real challenge. Activision sent DMCA notices on the tweets that tried to show the ad, which led to them being taken down. Images and videos sporadically re-emerge in the COD Warzone subreddit, but the links quickly become unusable when the sources get DMCA-striked as well. Well, we can just wait for the official announcements to come out, really.
