Despite mounting pressure from fans, players, and organizations, Adam Silver announced that there have been no discussions to move the 2017 NBA All-Star game from North Carolina in protest of the recently passed The Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act in the state.

“The current state of the law is problematic for the league. But we’re not making any announcements now,” commissioner Adam Silver said in New York after the league’s board of governors meetings. “We can be most constructive by working with elected officials to effect change.”

The bill requires transgender people to use the bathroom that matches the gender on their birth certificate, rather than that with which they identify. It also prohibits local governments from adopting or enforcing anti-discrimination policies not already contained in the state's anti-discrimination laws.

Numerous players and organizations have spoken out against holding the NBA All-Star weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina because of the bill. The Atlanta Hawks have also bid to hold All-Star weekend in Atlanta as a possible alternative.
