Unlike Mercedes Martinez, who has been consistently defending the Ring of Honor Women's Championship on AEW Dark and Dark Elevation for months now, Jonathan Gresham, the Tony Khan-owned promotion's main champion has been notably absent since March, when he wrestled on AEW's Battle of the Belts II two weeks after unifying the belts at Supercard of Honor in a decisive win over Bandido.

While “The Octopus” hasn't completely disappeared from the wrestling world since, as he's wrestled in nine matches including wins over Kevin Blackwood, Tristan Archer, and Invictus Khash, and made an appearance at Impact's Slammiversary to celebrate his wife, Jordynne Grace, winning the Impact Knockouts World Championship, he's been notably absent from AEW television, even as the return of Ring of Honor seemingly inches closer and closer.

Fortunately, Gresham's time might soon be upon us, as, after Tully Blanchard debuted his new Enterprise featuring Gates of Agony and a re-debuting Brian Cage, the current ROH champion made an appearance in a backstage segment with Lexi Nair, where, after discussing a potential title match with Lee Moriarty, he was interrupted by Tessa Blanchard's father who also wanted to get in on the action.

Goodness, is ROH coming back back? Did TK secure television for the promotion, maybe in exchange for an AEW-Shark Week collaboration? Either way, with the ROH Television Championship, ROH Tag Team Championship, and even the ROH Pure Championship all getting more television time than the promotion's biggest prize, it sure would be nice to see Gresham back on television a bit more often, as he's one of the pound for pound best performers in the wrestling world today.
