Big man Dewayne Dedmon has had two stints with the Atlanta Hawks in a span of three seasons. Alex Len of the Sacramento Kings was part of the whole ordeal and is confused with the team's moves.

Dedmon's first stint with the Hawks was from 2017 to 2019. Come summer of 2019, he inked a hefty three-year, $40 million contract with the Sacramento Kings. However, come February 2020, Dedmon, along with two second-round picks, was traded back to Atlanta for Jabari Parker and Alex Len. Len himself is puzzled with the move, noting that the Hawks should've paid Dedmon right in the first place.

“They didn’t want to pay him in the first place, so it didn’t make sense to me,” Len said, per Chris Kirshner of The Athletic. “If they wanted him, they could have just paid him. So they get him as a backup now and end up paying him anyway.”

Len, who spent a season and a half with the Hawks, admitted that he didn't want to leave the team. But as soon as he stepped foot in Sacramento, he was pleased with his new role.

“You know, it is what it is. That’s how I felt about it. I didn’t want to leave Atlanta. I told you that. But it happened. Going to SAC, I didn’t know what to expect. Once I got there, it was a pleasant surprise. I like the team. We were winning games, and I could just do my part. My role is more defined over there.”

Like Len, most Hawks fans are probably confused with how they dealt with the Dedmon situation. Be as it may, both parties seem pleased with their current situation.
