Aljamain Sterling got brutally honest recently when he discussed steroids in the sport of MMA. The UFC bantamweight champion has been firing shots at everyone who's gotten in trouble for PEDs.

The UFC champion has been going after TJ Dillashaw and calling him ‘needleshaw' after his suspension for EPO. Aljamain Sterling thinks the punishment should be more than just a simple suspension.

“That shit bothers me, man, it really does bother me.” Sterling said on The MMA Hour. You should do jail time for doing EPO, or steroids, or any type of shit like that in the UFC – in combat sports in general.”

“You can literally rearrange someone’s career, their livelihood, doing this contact sport, man. This is not like playing basketball, we’re not shooting hoops, we’re not hitting a baseball into the crowd, you know what I’m talking about? We’re dealing with lifechanging events when you step into that Octagon. The ones that are stupid will say ‘well, no-one put a gun to your head and told you to do this’. What? How is that a logical comeback to justify those actions? Like, what?!”

The subject of PEDs in the UFC is a very complicated one especially with the arrival of USADA. The subject is taken very seriously but a solution is not easy to find.

Aljamain Sterling's punishment is a little extreme and very unlikely to happen, at least in the UFC. There is a good possibility he ends up fighting TJ Dillashaw in the near future should he successfully defend his title.
