Ice Cube's BIG3 league, in its debut season, had shown that it needed some tweaks as the season progressed, but was mildly successful enough in its own right — at least enough to return for another year.

Fans were intrigued and gave the league a big enough turnout early on before viewership dropped mainly due to games being shown on tape delay. But Fox Sports had seen enough and gathered enough data to see that the BIG3 had higher ratings than the previously slotted UFC replays which made renewing another season a no-brainer.

The league will be returning with some exciting additions, and to continue the momentum it had already garnered, familiar faces will remain.

By the end of last season, Trilogy had won the trophy and decided to keep its roster intact for next season. Some teams made changes such as the Killer 3's which include Stephen Jackson and Chauncey Billups. Metta World Peace recently announced that he would be joining up with his old Indiana Pacers teammate to play next season.

One of the league's biggest return belongs to the team known as 3's Company. According to the league's press release, the face of the BIG3 and its biggest ambassador in Allen Iverson will be returning to the team as a coach this time around, but he is back nonetheless.

Allen Iverson was one of the biggest draws for the league but only played a few minutes in one game and never played again. He had also gone AWOL before returning to the team after being suspended. It's by far the most surprising news given his lack of desire to play basketball anymore.

This is still exciting news for the team and the league as fans will always flock to see the legend around the game, even if it's for a glimpse of him on the sideline.

The remaining teams will settle once the 2018 BIG3 draft's pool of players are selected to complete full rosters.
