Buddy Hield enters the New Orleans Pelicans franchise with his high-level of confidence and shot-making capability.

Outside of Anthony Davis, the Pelicans are short on weapons as there isn’t any natural scorer on this team with Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans both being more of playmakers than shooters. Ideally, Holiday and Evans are best utilized by having them create opportunities for their teammates.

In Hield, New Orleans finds someone who has no hesitation when it comes to scoring chances. But despite the talent and belief in himself, coach Alvin Gentry still foresees an up-and-down season for his rookie, per NBA.com’s Ian Thomsen.

“It's going to be a rollercoaster season for him. He's going to have some 30-point games, he's also going to have some 3-for-15 games. That's all a part of learning as a rookie. But you tell me a rookie that's come in this league that hasn't done that.”

Speaking of opportunities, Buddy Hield will get just that to begin the season as the team isn’t confident that Tyreke Evans, their projected starting two-guard, will be healthy enough to play in the early parts of the 2016-2017 campaign.
