New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has long been turning heads with his spectacular play. Add Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians on that growing list. The fourth-year rusher's stellar play on the field led him to draw lofty comparisons from Arians' former understudy in Hall of Fame ball-carrier Marshall Faulk.

“I coached Marshall Faulk, and this guy’s scarier,” he said.

Faulk is a New Orleans native who played for the Indianapolis Colts when Arians was working as their quarterbacks coach back in 1998. He was already dominant during his time in Indy but didn't reach his full potential until he was traded to the St. Louis Rams where he won three consecutive Offensive Player of the Year awards and was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 2000.

Despite still being in the early stages of his career, Kamara has already shown his potential to match or even exceed Faulk's accomplishments on the field, at least according to Arians.

The Tennessee product showed a glimpse of the damage that he can deal this season after tallying 16 yards on 12 carries and a scored touchdown against the Buccaneers in their opening game matchup which led to a 34-23 win by the Saints.

Alvin Kamara carried over his fine form albeit in a dual-threat capacity in Week 8, when he caught nine passes for 96 yards in Sunday’s 26-23 overtime win against the Chicago Bears. He now has amassed a total of 55 catches for 556 yards midway through their 2020 campaign.

Arians will have to find more ways to limit Kamara when the Bucs and the Saints go head-to-head for a crucial showdown in Week 9 proceedings.
