New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara could be ready to have a huge game against the Chicago Bears this weekend. The linebacker situation for the Bears is manned by Roquan Smith, who has appeared on Chicago’s injury report this week.

On the daily Locked on Saints podcast, Ross Jackson recorded a crossover episode with Lorin Cox of Locked On Bears. The guys discussed the matchup between Alvin Kamara and Smith. Moreover, what it means for the playoff game.

Jackson: One of the biggest things to watch is with Kamara getting back to the field at a lesser percentage because he will not be able to be a part of practice all throughout the week. But with him coming back on the field, the matchup that I am watching there and in the Bears injury report is Roquan Smith with the elbow injury and whether or not he is going to be okay to go as Roquan Smith is a big matchup that Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints.

Cox: One hundred percent. The Roquan thing is interesting because the perception has been an all-pro caliber type season, of course, he was not voted to the Pro-Bowl. He has viewed this year as kind of the next Bears linebacker coming into his own and he has made some impressive plays. He has been a lot better in coverage. It has gone a bit overlooked in Chicago that he has been troublesome at times in run defense at times.
