Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut is known to be an outspoken person and does not shy away from voicing his opinion on social media. However, he found out recently that not all news found online is true – and he learned about it the hard way.

The 7-foot Australian international got into a Twitter argument with some fans over a fake news story called the “pizzagate conspiracy theory” that originated from Reddit and was published by Snopes, which is a well-known debunking site.

Bogut then deleted another reply he made trying to justify his case that he believed the story based on pictures that actually looked real.

The Pizzagate Conspiracy Theory was about a child sex trade ran by Democrats, which most people already knew was not true based on the source that posted it online. Now that he knows there are some websites that have purely have fake news, it should serve as a reminder for Bogut to choose his battles and make some research first before reacting on social media.
