Canada may not be participating in this year’s Olympics, but their best player in Andrew Wiggins will still be following the happenings in Rio.

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ young star will one day showcase his talents at the international quadrennial event, but for now, he will be relegated to a spectator.

Without his country’s participation in the basketball games, which team will Wiggins root for now? He revealed this in his recent interview with Martin Rickman for Dime Magazine.

I want to see Spain get it just because I have a teammate on there. It’d be awesome to see Spain win it.

Over the past two years, Andrew Wiggins has been the recipient of a lot of feeds from Ricky Rubio, resulting to highlight plays. The two have combined to electrify the crowd no matter what arena they’re playing in.

Spain is currently recognized as the second best team in the world by FIBA, and this upcoming Olympic games could see them going up against Team USA once more, if both teams do their job.
