When you’re young, you get to dream about a lot of things. The possibilities are limitless, and so is your potential.

Andrew Wiggins is doing just that for the Minnesota Timberwolves heading into the season. However, his aim isn’t as farfetched as what others dream of when they were young. The Wolves are one of the NBA’s most exciting young teams, with him and Karl-Anthony Towns leading the pack for new coach Tom Thibodeau.

The future is indeed bright for the franchise and, with Omari Sankofa of Sports Illustrated, Wiggins laid down his expectation for the team in their 2016-2017 campaign.

I think we’re going to have a way better season than we had this year. We just had a lot going on. We’ve got some new pieces. I think last year we could’ve beat any team on any given day. This year we need to be more consistent with it. We can make the playoffs. Nothing is easy, we gotta work and our coach is going to make us work.

The Western Conference’s playoff race has always been a mad dash in March and April. A handful of teams seem to always find themselves nip and tuck with each other for that final playoff spots.

It only attests to the level of competition out West, and for a young team like Minnesota, it will be a much taller task. But we’ve seen crazier things happen.
