Los Angeles Angels pitching coach Mickey Callaway has been accused of sexual harassment by five women, according to a report from Brittany Ghiroli and Katie Strang of The Athletic.

The Angels put out a statement late Monday night and will conduct a full investigation:

The report from The Athletic reveals that five women in the sports business came forward alleging the 45-year-old of sexual harassment. Callaway, who managed the New York Mets in 2018 and 2019, reportedly “aggressively pursued” the women by sending them lewd pictures as well as asking one of them for nude photos in return.

The report detailed several instances of Callaway acting inappropriately around the women, which made them very uncomfortable. The women also revealed that Callaway's actions “spanned at least five years, multiple cities, and three teams.”

Callahan responded to the allegations in an email to The Athletic. He said that he wants to be given “the opportunity to provide more specific responses” instead of giving a rushed response to what he described as “general allegations.”

A similar report from ESPN, released two weeks ago, revealed similar allegations toward former Mets general manager Jared Porter while he worked for the Chicago Cubs. The Mets immediately fired the 41-year-old executive following the publication of the report.

As Passan said, perhaps the Angels will do the same with Callaway, whom they hired in 2019 following his two-year stint with the Mets. There is certainly no place for this kind of behavior anywhere.
