The Los Angeles Angels season has quickly been going down the drain after a hot start. Things appeared to get worse on Tuesday night as Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout was pulled from game with an injury. According to MLB Network insider Jon Morosi, he was removed from the game because of upper back spasms.

Trout was 0-for-2 with two strikeouts prior to his exit. He was replaced in the game by Monte Harrison.

Trout is having a fantastic season for Los Angeles. Entering play Tuesday, the future Hall of Fame outfielder had 24 home runs to go with 51 RBI and 55 runs scored. Sadly, despite the great production from Trout, the Angels once again are falling out of contention.

Los Angeles has won just 11 of their previous 43 games after coming out of the gates strong. Both Trout and Shohei Ohtani have put forth excellent seasons, but it appears to be another year of wasted ability for Mike Trout.

This injury is just the latest in a long line of them over the last couple of years. From 2012 through 2019, Trout was mostly healthy and played the majority of the Angels' games. But over the last couple of years, he has continued to get hurt. Los Angeles fans have to hope that this is nothing serious. Undoubtedly Trout will undergo further tests in all likelihood Wednesday. But it is possible Angels interim manager Bill Haselman is able to provide greater detail on the injury after the game. Houston currently leads 5-2 in the 7th inning.
