The New Orleans Pelicans are currently in the process of butchering the Memphis Grizzlies at home, but while the game is not yet over, Anthony Davis likely has the play of the game honors in the bag.

During the second period of the game, E'Twaun Moore lobbed a pass to Davis that was so high and so off the mark that mere mortals simply would not have a chance to catch it, let alone catch and dunk it. Anthony Davis, however, is not a mere mortal, so he easily caught Moore’s bad dish and threw it down like the basketball demigod that he is.

This is just another proof of Davis’ scary good athleticism. Moore did not even care about his form or mechanic in making that pass, as he knew that Davis would get the ball anyway. Fortunately for the city of New Orleans, its football team does not have Moore under center for the New Orleans Saints.

As good as that alley-oop connection was, that’s far from the only mind-bending show of Davis’ greatness this season. He has been dunking over poor fellows all season long and posting insane stat lines on an almost regular basis. Anthony Davis is averaging 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks this season.
