New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis reassured the franchise’s fan-based on Friday afternoon, when he stressed his level of commitment to the organization.

The three-time NBA All-Star signed a five-year, $145 million extension last year, cementing his leading role in the team’s future.

“I never plan on leaving here. I love it here,” Davis as per Oleh Kosel of The Bird Writes. “I plan on bringing a championship here.”

Since being drafted with the #1 pick in 2012, Davis has proven himself as an elite talent. During the 2015-2016 season, the former Kentucky big-man averaged a double-double of 24.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in just 61 games.

At the age of 23, Davis still have his best years ahead of him. It’s vital, however, that The Brow remains healthy in order to gain the requisite experience that will help him lead a team to a championship. Davis has missed 14 or more games of every season that he has played in the league.

The contract extension that he signed will take Davis through the 2019-2020 season, with a player option in 2020-2021. Pelicans fans will be pleased to hear that not only is Davis committed to the organization on paper, but also in mind-set.
