After Kevin Durant left the Thunder this offseason, Russell Westbrook took all kinds of heat from Durant's camp. They were calling out Westbrook's play for being one of the reasons why Durant left OKC. Now that all of the drama from that move is done and over with, Westbrook is getting support from a few of his teammates.

Recently the Thunder‘s Enes Kanter defended Westbrook and his game, saying that Westbrook makes them all better. Now Anthony Morrow, a shooting guard/small forward for OKC, is giving Westbrook the props he deserves. Morrow was recently on SiriusXM talking about Westbrook; here is what he had to say:

Morrow calling Westbrook a player who can carry his team is great news for Thunder fans because they will need Westbrook to do just that in this next season. On top of Morrow giving it up for Westbrook, the betting odds have done the same thing. Yesterday, Westbrook was named the favorite to win MVP next season.

While Westbrook does have the ability to carry a team, he will need some help from Anthony Morrow. Morrow is the only real player on OKC who is known for his shooting. He will most likely be competing for the starting small forward job next season. When Morrow is on the court he can spread the court and open up the lane for Westbrook. Westbrook has the ability to collapse the defense and kick the ball out to Morrow for open shots. Morrow's development will be essential for the success of OKC.

Westbrook will have quite a load on his shoulders for the future of the Thunder but as long as he has the support of his teammates, he should have no trouble taking the team into the playoffs. They will be interesting to watch next season and should not be overlooked.
