Even as the ongoing summer transfer window is nearing a close, Arsenal is eyeing to make one major move for a promising Real Madrid talent.

As noted by ESPN, Arsenal is looking to bring back versatile midfielder Martin Odegaard, who spent the latter half of last season with the Gunners on a loan stint.

Arsenal had ended its interest in signing Odegaard on a permanent transfer deal due to price concerns. But as the report noted, Real Madrid is now open to offloading the promising Norwegian talent on a €45 million transfer deal, which has spiked the interest of Arsenal club officials.

The report further added that Real Madrid had placed a €60 million price tag on the midfielder, but has now budged to slashing off €15 million from its initial transfer demand.

Sky Sports notes that Arsenal has already reached out to Real Madrid club officials to open up transfer discussions for Odegaard, although it is currently not known on the current stage that the two are at with this transfer matter.

Odegaard had his moments of brilliance in Premier League play with the Gunners last season, which included a key home showing against Crystal Palace, where he notched an assist and created a trio of goal-scoring chances for teammates.

For the moment, Odegaard is currently slated to feature with Real Madrid this season, but he is among a crowded group of midfielders, which include the likes of veterans Isco and Toni Kroos.

Odegaard currently waits on whether the Gunners will make a grand push to bring him back.
