The Houston Astros were able to finalize their deal with star pitcher Justin Verlander during the MLB lockout. The holdup regarded language in his contract and that issue has now been resolved, even with the current lockout in progress.

Verlander back to the Astros surprised many people when his younger brother Ben Verlander broke the news. Fans expected the Astros star to decide to go back to Detroit or possibly make his way up North to the New York Yankees.

Throughout his career, he has been one of, if not, the best pitcher in the past decade as he has dominated every stage of his career. In his career, Verlander is 226-129 with a 3.33 ERA and over 3000 strikeouts. He is coming off Tommy John surgery which kept him out for the Astros all season a year ago. He is a World Series champion with the Astros and he's going to look to win another one next season. In recent bullpens, the 38-year old is still throwing close to 100 miles per hour and showing that his velocity is still there after Tommy John surgery.

The Astros didn't make many moves before the MLB lockout but their star shortstop Carlos Correa did not make a decision and that could be a good thing for the Astros. If they can find a way to re-sign Correa, they're going to be in a great position to win another World Series.
