The Oakland Athletics acquired right-handed starting pitcher Tanner Roark in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds ahead of Wednesday's MLB trade deadline, and apparently, Roark was getting some fast food when he learned about the deal:

Through 21 starts this season, Roark has gone 6-7 with a 4.24 ERA, allowing 119 hits while striking out 108 batters over 110.1 innings.

The 32-year-old was originally selected by the Texas Rangers in the 25th round of the 2008 MLB Draft but never actually played for the Rangers' major-league ballclub before being traded to the Washington Nationals in July 2010.

Roark went on to make his big-league debut in 2013, starting five of the 14 games he pitched and going 7-1 with a 1.51 ERA, surrendering 38 hits while fanning 40 hitters across 53.2 frames of action.

He then had a terrific year in his first full season in 2014, going 15-10 with a 2.85 ERA while giving up 178 hits and registering 138 punch-outs through 198.2 innings.

Roark proceeded to spend the first six years of his career with the Nationals, producing mixed results. His best season came in 2016, when he went 16-10 with a 2.83 ERA and allowed 173 hits while totaling 172 strikeouts over 210 frames.

The Wilmington, Il. native then proceeded to sign with the Reds this past offseason, a marriage that obviously did not last very long.

Roark owns a lifetime 3.66 ERA and 3.94 FIP, accumulating 840 strikeouts across 1045.1 total innings.

The Athletics currently own a record of 61-47, and while they are eight games back of the Houston Astros for first place in the AL West, they are right in the thick of the American League Wild Card hunt.
