The Atlanta Falcons started off the 2019 season terribly, and it took away any chance for the team to make the playoffs. A strong finish to the season gave the team a lot of hope that next season can be good, but they are going to need some big improvements this offseason.

One thing to keep in mind is the Falcons are currently projected to have around $10 million in cap space, according to spotrac.com. That number can increase depending on players they may cut that have little or no dead cap.

So who should the team target? Let's breakdown three free agents the team should be looking at bringing in.

Robby Anderson, Wide Receiver

The Falcons have Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley but they could really use another wide receiver to improve their roster. There are other players like A.J. Green who the team could go after, but Robby Anderson will probably be a little cheaper and makes a lot of sense.

During the 2019 season, Anderson caught 52 passes for 779 yards and five touchdowns. It would very hard for opposing defenses to take away all three guys, and the team would have to keep one of them without extra help.

Some might argue free agent money could be better spent somewhere else, but you can have too many offensive weapons.

Ronald Darby, Cornerback

The Eagles might bring back Ronald Darby, but if they fail to do so, it makes a lot of sense for the Falcons to offer him a contract. It's going to take a big contract to get it done, but he would improve a secondary that has recently struggled.

During the 2019 season, the Falcons gave up 244.9 yards per game and that ranked 22nd in the NFL. Darby is a true lockdown cornerback and that is something that is key, especially in the NFC South, which features the likes of Michael Thomas and Mike Evans.

Case Keenum, Quarterback

It's time for the Falcons to move on from Matt Shaub. As Matt Ryan gets older it becomes more and more important, the team brings in backups that can win games if he ever were to go down with an injury.

Keenum is a quarterback that is good at avoiding pressure, and with the Falcons' offensive line, he might be left running for his life. The team probably wouldn't want Keenum starting half a season, but the Falcons will still have a chance to win games even if they lose their franchise quarterback.
