What could have been scarier for an NBA rookie?

Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley had quite the experience with Kevin Garnett during his rookie season back in 2010-11.

As Bradley tells it, during a practice one day he was running point for the second unit and missed a layup. Not that uncommon of a thing for a new player in the league, but Garnett never let him hear the end of it.

Via Masslive.com:

“I got in there and missed a layup, and KG cussed me out,” Bradley said on Friday, according to Masslive.com's Tom Westerholm. “Every single day he saw me, he would cuss me out.”

You hear stories all the time about how intense Garnett is and this right here is another perfect example of that.

Bradley looked so young when he first came in the league so he must have been an easy target for Garnett. But eventually, the same stuff that has helped Bradley become the player he is today, aided him in winning over KG back then. Specifically, it was after Bradley posterizing Shaquille O'Neal and Kendrick Perkins during another practice.

“KG and Rondo were like, ‘You're ready for the league now,'” Bradley said. “The things KG did for me, it was a lot. Those are my brothers. KG doesn't talk to many people. KG's not very nice.”

Bradley has now blossomed into one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and a very valuable member of the current Celtics. No doubt, experiences like this early in his career helped shape the player he is today.
