Colorado Avalanche winger Gabriel Landeskog was not going to let Nashville Predators defenseman Mattias Ekholm get away with his shenanigans without paying for it. After taking off Avs forward Mikko Rantanen's helmet and tossing it to the ice, Ekholm was immediately met with a flurry of fists from an angry Landeskog, who showed zero tolerance to the Preds star's actions.

There's plenty of money between that threesome of Landeskog, Rantanen, and Ekholm, as all are their respective teams' top players. Take Landeskog, who had just signed a huge 8-year, $56 million deal in the offseason with the Avs. Rantanen, meanwhile, is on a six-year, $55.5 million contract he inked with Colorado in 2019. As for Ekholm, he got a four-year $25 million extension back in October from the Preds.

But who cares about the money and the high investments their teams have invested in them? This is how NHL players settle differences on the ice, and it's not going to change anytime soon despite the fact that fights have gone down over the past years.

Landeskog and the Avs are looking to rebound from a 3-1 road loss to the Dallas Stars last Friday which ended their six-game win streak, while the Predators are eyeing to go back-to-back after defeating the New Jersey Devils at home last Friday, as well.
