After being shown off at Square Enix's E3 2021 presentation, we're now getting more details on Babylon's Fall. Platinum Games has announced details about the game's upcoming closed beta phase.

Babylon's Fall Closed Beta Release Date (North America): August 5, 2021.

Meanwhile, Japan has already started its Closed Beta last July 29. Europe will be the final region to undergo the Closed Beta, starting on August 12.

You can sign up for the Babylon's Fall Closed Beta Test on the official page. Aspiring Closed Beta players should note that the tests will be based on their Square Enix account region. Additonally, screenshots and in-game video footage are not allowed to be shared during the first phase of the Closed Beta.

Babylon's Fall Producer, Yosuke Saito, also mentions that the game “came about during the development of NieR: Automata.” He also states that the game was borne from the idea of enjoying Platinum Game's stylish action while sharing the experience with others.

Kenji Sato, Babylon's Fall's Director, also said the following:

“We have limited the scope of playable content for the Closed Beta Test, and the story and certain game features won’t be accessible yet. Because of this, testers may get the impression that the game feels a little simple or barebones. We hope you understand that we will be prioritizing testing the technical aspects of the game first.”

Babylon's Fall will be undergoing three Closed Beta phases. The first of these will be exclusive to Steam. The following will then be for the PlayStation 4, and lastly, the PlayStation 5. There will also be “different testing goals” for each phase.
