Some good news has arrived the way of the Cleveland Browns, as they prepare to take on the Houston Texans on Sunday. Star quarterback Baker Mayfield has reportedly been activated by the squad from the reserve/COVID-19 list, and should be good to go for the Browns' Week 10 matchup.

This report comes via Adam Schefter of ESPN:

Mayfield was initially placed on the list on Sunday, after he was deemed as a risk following some close contact with a COVID-19 patient. The 25-year-old did not test positive for the coronavirus, and presumably, succeeding set of tests have completely cleared him of the virus at this point.

This comes as a welcome development for the Browns, who are coming off a loss from their Week 8 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Mayfield did not exactly light it up in that one, with the former Oklahoma standout completing just 12-of-25 of his passes for 122 yards.

It was a disappointing 16-6 home loss for the Browns against the Raiders, and Mayfield simply did not look like a premier NFL quarterback in that one.

Cleveland is coming off their bye week, which should bode well for their chances against the Texans on Sunday. It remains unclear, however, what type of effect being self isolated has had on Mayfield.

Mayfield was forced to skip a couple of team practices, so it will be interesting to see what kind of impact — if any — this will have on his performance against the Texans.
