The Baltimore Ravens are en route to displaying a whole new offense next season, much like the one they ended the 2018 campaign with. It's apparent now that the Ravens traded away longtime quarterback Joe Flacco to the Denver Broncos, they will be exclusively a run-first offense. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is a unique talent and has proven to be a dual threat in the short time he spent as the Ravens starter.

Unfortunately, the Ravens resorted to using Jackson so heavily in the run game due to the lack of a workhorse running back or any real threats in the passing game. This unfortunate truth could be turned around if the Ravens fill the void at running back and pursue New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram.

Unfortunately for Ingram, it's apparent the Saints love running back Alvin Kamara. Kamara is fast, catches the ball well out of the backfield, has run power, and has youth on his side. Ingram is coming off a mediocre season with the Saints and spent the first four games serving a suspension for performance-enhancing substances.

After the 2018 season, it has become increasingly clear Ingram is a solid running back, but he is not on Kamara's level and stifles Kamara's production at times. On the other hand, Ingram is almost too good to remain a backup, and a team like the Ravens can instantly benefit from his skill set.

Ingram would be a nice complement to the offense and can take pressure off Jackson in regards to his constant need to run the ball. The Ravens desperately need to add some weapons in the passing game as well, or they will remain one-dimensional in the future.

In addition to the necessity of adding some weapons as well as a reliable running back, Jackson needs to grow as a quarterback. It's apparent the team does not feel comfortable letting him fire downfield due to his inaccuracy, but if he is the quarterback of their future, he will need to make plays with his arm as well as his running ability.
